Details that help
- Cooling differs between idle and road speed or between the driver and passenger vents.
- The system cools briefly, cycles unusually, or stopped working after another repair.
Distinguish temperature from airflow
A restricted cabin filter or blower problem can reduce air volume even with a functional refrigerant circuit. Low refrigerant is possible, but a full charge with a control fault can also produce warm air. Outdoor temperature and operating conditions affect readings and should be considered in the evaluation.
How diagnosis is approached
The complaint, refrigerant type, and visible system condition are reviewed. Appropriate temperature, pressure, electrical, and control checks help identify the affected area. A leak assessment may be needed if refrigerant loss is suspected. Recommendations should separate a confirmed fault from any additional work required to establish the cause.
Before your visit
Tell D&S about prior recharge attempts, refrigerant substitutes, sealants, and recent cooling-system repairs. Do not add an unknown product before diagnosis. If compressor noise is severe or the drive belt is affected, request guidance before continuing to operate the vehicle or A/C system.
