When calibration may be relevant
- Compatible component replacement or documented setup requirements call for a calibration check.
- Diagnostic findings identify an adjustment need after mechanical and fuel-delivery concerns are evaluated.
Fix faults before changing settings
A restricted filter, pressure fault, leaking injector, ignition problem, or incorrect sensor input can distort fueling behavior. Altering settings to mask those problems may leave the cause unresolved. The required configuration and any applicable emissions requirements must be considered rather than treating calibration as an unrestricted tuning exercise.
What a suitable process includes
The system's identity, supported procedures, and current operating condition are reviewed. Adjustments are made only within the applicable equipment and vehicle requirements, with relevant operating information checked afterward. The work should explain what was changed and why. No particular software access or compatibility is assumed before the equipment is identified.
Before your appointment
Bring installation records and details of previous settings or component changes. Describe symptoms on each available fuel. If propane leakage or a strong odor is suspected, stop safely and arrange assistance; calibration is not an appropriate response to a fuel-containment concern.
