When to plan the change
- You are moving between seasonal sets or returning to the regular set after winter.
- Stored tires and wheels need inspection before being used again.
Assess condition and compatibility
Tread condition, age-related deterioration, damage, tire size, and wheel fit all matter. Directional and asymmetric tires need the correct orientation. Pressure-monitoring arrangements may also affect setup. A seasonal set is not automatically suitable simply because it fit the vehicle in a previous year.
What the work can include
The assemblies or loose tires are inspected and the required mounting and balancing scope is confirmed. Correct installation, fasteners, pressure settings, and any applicable monitoring-system procedure are addressed. Tires should be evaluated for damage before storage or reuse. Ask what storage preparation is appropriate for the set and conditions rather than assuming storage is included.
Before bringing the set
Tell D&S whether the tires are already mounted on wheels and bring any wheel-lock key. Mention different wheel hardware or previous vibration. Do not use a seasonal changeover to postpone inspection of a damaged tire, exposed cord, or repeated pressure loss; those conditions require their own assessment.
